The story

An enchanted forest which could be anywhere. Bahlus is a little person who is in love with the tall Milania. He is unsure how to approach and woo her. He is at odds with his size and goes to the forest’s great magician. Bahlus would like to know how to win Milania’s heart and believes this is only possible if he can swap his short stature for another handicap. With the help of the audience, the great magician of the forest shows Bahlus what could happen… And at the end, Bahlus knows how to truly see and trust his heart before he can hold his beloved in his arms.

The artistes

JOMI

The former student of Marcel Marceau in Paris has been roaming the world as a solo pantomime artist since 1981. His skills do not just lie in the precision he brings to his performance, but above all in the soul he lends his characters.

THOMMY

European and world record holder for extreme sports and actor on German TV channels RTL, Pro7, VIVA and SAT1. He will be wowing the audience with a world premiere.

FRALAU

A magician - body and soul. His illusions are well known on many continents. Las Vegas, the Mecca of illusionists, lies at his feet. Magic is the key to the soul.

Mister Nitro

Fire is part of his world. Flames so high that they are taller than he is will keep the audience enraptured.

The great magician

He sits in the forest with his accordion and spends his time idling away the day. Until Bahlus arrives that is. Then suddenly he has plenty to do and the enchanted forest becomes a hive of activity.

Bahlus the dwarf

The hero of our little tale. He is plucky and courageous, in love with a beautiful woman and wants to win her over.

Bippo und Boppo

Blind Foundation

The band - deep in the undergrowth, the moles with their parrot-like snouts provide the inventive, romantic and exciting musical accompaniment in the enchanted forest. Blind Foundation, a musical mix of pop, rock, blues, funk and soul.

The concept

Renate Weidner and Ralph Büsing are both handicapped. For more than 20 years they have been organising events associated with handicaps and have won several awards for their endeavours. In 2002, they founded the association called Partizip.

What motivates and challenges the two of them is implementing new, innovative concepts in order to publicise handicaps. One example is Europe’s first model contest for people in wheelchairs, beauties in motion (www.bim2008.com).

They have always been dedicated to the art and culture of handicapped artistes. With the first international festivals for handicapped artistes at the beginning of the 1990s in Hanover, they were German pioneers of what have now become standard events. For the first time, handicapped artistes showed that they were not in the limelight due to their handicaps, but because of their skills.

For the first time in Europe, handicapped artistes will now be the stars in the circus ring. With CIRCUS FANTASTICUS, Renate Weidner and Ralph Büsing have succeeded in bringing together first-class performers. Each and every one is top of their game.
